STAGE 1: STATIC MIXER
T
he static mixer we use has mixing elements made of a very unique marine grade copper alloy. This alloy has been demonstrated in the marine industry on ship hulls to be extremely bio fouling resistant.

When water runs over the alloy copper alloy elements a reaction happens that causes the ions in the water to have a reduced charge.

(In the Bauer Energy Design Links section you can read further about this phenomenon under our published patent applications.)

The water after the static mixer is conditioned and now has some unique properties:

  • The suspended solids in the water are now flocculated

  • Iron bacteria if previously present is now absent

  • The mineral characteristics of the water are uniform with the conditioning

STAGE 2: FINE FILTRATION
The second stage is a standard 5 micron water filter:

Fig. 1.1 is not pretty.

It shows ductile iron collected from the filter housing after 3 months normal household usage. I did not know that we were actually consuming this in our water supply
.

What is surprising are the flocs that have not attached to the filter. We found that the 5 micron filters are easy to wash off and that the flocs are not sticky.

The inside of the filter housing also stayed clean with no film.

Fig. 1.2 shows that no bio fouling of the housing has occurred. Further tests showed that though there was a presence of iron bacteria in the water supply before treatment there was an absence after treatment.

STAGE 3: MICRO FILTRATION
We use the Argonide Nano Ceram Filter.

This filter as featured on our web site (click here) has ultra filtration properties. We refer to it as a membrane in a can.

Fig 2.1 shows the shape of the filter after six months of household usage, that same picture shows a clean filter to the eye. This is because the great majority of the visible particles due to flocculation were caught by the 5 micron filter.

There is no visible or measurable bio fouling.

This housing in
Fig 2.2 hasn't been cleaned in 3 years of use. This is the way things are inside our household pipes as well. This can also be seen in the toilet tank reservoir.

The simplicity of the system is hard to believe however it is factual.

The water is chlorinated to standard municipal levels however the conditioning and filtration give the water the ability to end the formation of bio films and bio fouling.
